In accepting the award, Williams said:

“We’ve had a wild, fantastic and fulfilling ride since the inception of AZK Media: Global Marketing & Media Agency! Thank you Mumbrella for the recognition of PR Professional of the Year at the 2024 CommsCon Awards.

This award is truly a team win, to Julie Cooper for your passion and inspirational energy, Jessica Poulter for your commitment and drive and my amazing husband and business partner Wayne Williams who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to guide the business towards a wonderful and exciting new direction.

For all our wider team across APAC and the UK, clients, partners, valued mentors and friends, thank you for believing in what we do as an agency. Very excited to open a new chapter of growth, inspiration and collaboration!”

Williams also was a keynote speaker at the Mumbrella CommsCon Awards, sharing her tips to avoiding burnout in a PR-oriented career.

Taking to the stage at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney, Williams used her career as a case study on the good and bad realities of burnout in the public relations (PR) and communications industry.

“A lot of people see the gloss and the media headlines, they see the campaigns,” Williams acknowledged to a packed room. “But they don’t see the hard grunt that goes on behind the scenes.”
